Hi friends,
All week I’ve been thinking about you, how long it’s been since I’ve written. For the month of August, I’d planned to give myself time off from “shoulds,” and I mostly succeeded. But just as September came and my son was preparing to go back to school and I was ramping up to get back to my usual shenanigans, a routine medical procedure left me with complications. Fortunately, it’s nothing serious, though I’ve essentially been out of commission for the whole beginning of the month.
The one thing I’m grateful for is that it’s given me lots of time to rest, catch up on movies and TV, read books, and spend time with my little family. Even still, I’m looking forward to being back to full strength soon and sharing thoughts with you about writing from the end of summer and beyond.
Until then, I hope you’re all well and giving yourselves whatever you need at this time of transition. And I’d like to share this post from Andrea Gibson, which includes a poem I really needed today titled “Tincture.” If you’re struggling at all with your body, I urge you to give it a listen.
I look forward to being in touch again soon!
Yours,
Jen
Take care of yourself ❤️ x
